That would be no problem at all but I figured I'd ask first. I'm hoping all they need is a BIOS flash.

Is this normal? I'm thinking it means that Lenovo flashed a locked BIOS on to the 650s to prevent them from being overclocked? I've seen people post about their decent overclocks on 650Ms, but none of them mentioned any special methods they had to follow to hit those speeds. Another weird thing I noticed is that, in Inspector, next to the BIOS Version number is "", even though I haven't flashed or modded anything (though I'm guessing I may have to soon). Sliders in Inspector and Precision work fine, but all the readings during full-load display the same 790mhz core clock. Then, after trying to get started on the 650s, I quickly found out that no matter what I do, I can't adjust the clock speed. Used to my 120hz desktop monitor, so every bit helps.

Overclocked the monitor to 75hz, just for the hell of it. After starting it up and adjusting system settings to my liking, I went to work on the fun stuff. The mouse pad is sub-par but I'll be using a mouse most of the time anyways. But taking a big step up to this Y500 has raised a few concerns. I had a 8400M GS in my old one, and though it was only used for really light gaming, it was easy to overclock and worked perfectly. This is the first new laptop I've gotten in 6 years, as my last one was not used much for gaming.
